This set allows the tank to be represented according to the early-production configuration. Due to the design of the Tiger I tracks, it was not possible to use a link from one side on the opposite side, which forced tank crews to carry two sets of spare links. Only a few tanks used this configuration, as crews soon began using tracks from only one side of the vehicle—something achievable by reversing one of the track runs.
